Dr. Ruben Alexander – Physician/Surgeon
Dr. Alexander completed his Doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia medical school and graduated valedictorian, biology major with one of the highest MCAT scores in school history from Morehouse College. His experience with patients, exposure to the human body firsthand, and knowledge of health makes each one of our BodyWorks WellFIT services effective for our clients. Our programs are created using the knowledge to the highest level and degree of health, medicine and science.
Originally from Decatur, Georgia, Dr. Alexander has a strong interest in providing his patients with the tools to not only treat and prevent disease but also to improve their health and fitness. From an early age he has strived to lead by example in healthy living and is committed to this goal as a lifelong mission. His expertise and experience has proven to be invaluable and will continue to be a wonderful asset to the growth and development of BodyWorks.
Alyssa Morrison – Occupational Therapist
Alyssa helps people participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. An occupational therapy intervention could help someone recover and regain motor skills from injury, help children fully engage in school and social situations and improve older adults’ physical and cognitive changes. Her therapeutic guidelines and principles directly align with our WellFIT Model:
- Individualized evaluation, in which we determine goals
- Customized intervention to improve ability to perform daily activities and reach goals
- Outcome evaluation to ensure goals are being met and/or to make changes to the intervention plan

Alyssa has been helping people improve their level of fitness for years. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Syracuse University and Masters of Business Administration (MBA with Sports Management focus) from George Washington University.
Alyssa is also a certified USAT Level 1 triathlon coach, USAT youth and junior triathlon coach and personal fitness trainer. Building on the experience as a collegiate athlete in track and field, she is a seasoned triathlete and was named to DC Tri Club’s Elite Team in 2010 and 2011. She qualified for the 2009 and 2010 USAT Long Course National championships, as well as the 2010 Ironman World Championships 70.3. In addition, AJ represented Team USA at the 2010 ITU Short-Course Dualthon World Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland. AJ was named USAT Honorable Mention All-American for triathlon in 2010 and 2011. AJ is the founder and head coach of Multisport In Motion. She is also the coach of DC Tri Club, High Cloud Foundation and Tri Unify. AJ shares her knowledge to inspire others. She encourages people to challenge themselves and realize their potential.
Tommy Lampley - Genetic Engineer/Certified Fitness Trainer
Tommy is able to genetically manipulate DNA to functionally improve the basic building blocks of our bodies, cells. He makes sure the body works and operates the way it should on the cellular level.
His intrigue with the development of and scientific mechanisms behind obesity-related diseases, specifically diabetes and hypertension, fueled his desire to further research potential cures for these debilitating diseases. As a research associate in lab studying a rare form of diabetes (MODY2), he learned that many of these conditions can be prevented through proper nutrition and exercise. After becoming certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the combination of Tommy’s academic pursuit and passion for creating healthier lifestyles led to the inception of BodyWorks Fitness Consulting, LLC. in 2008. Tommy’s primary role within the company is to provide executive leadership in all company operations and develop fitness programs that maximize our clients’ genetic potential. Tommy is currently developing a natural supplement line with products that reduce body fat and increase metabolism. He also runs a non-profit organization that focuses on childhood obesity and HIV/AIDS prevention called Healthy Habits.
Tommy graduated Cum Laude from Morehouse College with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and minors in Psychology and Neuroscience. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Biotechnology at Georgetown University.
Matthew McNeil - Systems Engineer/Certified Fitness Trainer/Certified Group Fitness Instructor
With an expertise in the development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of systems, Matthew is able to specify, predict, and evaluate results obtained from wellness systems and processes. Using analysis, synthesis, mathematical, physical and social sciences and the methods of engineering, he helped build the BodyWorks WellFIT Model. He applies system cycle concepts to:
- Determine required functionality early in wellness development cycle
- Analyze and elicit health needs and challenges
- Design and produce operational procedures
- Ensure efficiency in all process
In his recent role as Human Capital Management Consultant within a major Global Business Services company he aided in the successful development, implementation and transition of major corporations’ PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System (HRMS) and Human Resource Information System (HRIS) integrations.
Matthew graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in General Science from Morehouse College and Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Personal Fitness trainer and Certified Group Fitness instructor with the American Aerobic Association International, the International Sports and Medicine Association (AAAI/ISMA) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). He believes in staying young at heart, physically and mentally and is involved in numerous youth enrichment/mentoring programs and initiatives working with youth ages 2 – 22. He has experience firsthand to openness of youth to positive change, their potential to learn and their ability to be taught. He believes anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
Zeina Hamra - Registered Dietitian
Zeina has worked with a broad spectrum of clients including adults, children, pregnant/postpartum women, athletes, and overweight/obese individuals. She is a registered Dietitian, Licensed Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer who believes that in order to live a healthy lifestyle people must incorporate exercise and proper eating patterns.
She is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nutritional Science.
